OUR PROCESS

Animal Control Partnerships

Animal Control Partnerships

Animal Control Partnerships

BAM proudly partners with Val Verde County Animal Control and City of Del Rio Animal Services. Through these important collaborations, we focus exclusively on pulling animals that are at immediate risk of euthanasia.

Our goal is to build stronger trust between local animal services and the Del Rio community. By working hand-in-hand with these organizations, we help save lives that might otherwise be lost, while demonstrating a shared commitment to compassionate, transparent, and effective animal welfare in our area.

Foster

Animal Control Partnerships

Once animals are pulled from animal control, they are placed in caring foster homes to continue their journey. This time in foster care allows them to decompress, relax, and begin adjusting to a safe, stable environment before traveling on to their receiving rescue.

Our foster network is 100% volunteer-based, made up of compassionate individuals who open their homes and hearts to animals in need. Their support plays a crucial role in helping each animal feel secure and ready for the next step toward a loving, permanent home.

Transportation

Our animals receive comprehensive medical care from trusted local veterinarians, including vaccinations, spay and neuter procedures, and any necessary treatments. This ensures each animal is healthy, fully prepared for transport, and meets all requirements for official health certification. Proper documentation is completed for every animal so receiving rescue partners can welcome them with confidence and continuity of care.

Transportation

Rescue Partnerships

Transportation

Our animals are transported to trusted rescue partners across the United States, where they have the best chance of finding loving homes. We coordinate a variety of safe, reliable transport methods, including cars, trailers, vans, RVs, and even airplanes. We have successfully relocated animals to rescues in seven different states. Each journey is carefully planned to ensure the comfort and well-being of every animal while connecting them with communities better suited for adoption.

Rescue Partnerships

Our rescue partners play a vital role in each animal’s journey. They reserve and receive the animals we’ve carefully vetted and prepared for transport, provide any additional veterinary care if needed, and work closely with potential adopters to ensure the best possible matches. Their goal is the same as ours: to see every animal placed in a safe, loving home.

Many of our partner rescues require official animal control identification numbers. To meet these requirements and ensure full compliance, we’ve built strong partnerships with our local animal control agencies—helping streamline the process and maintain the highest standards of care and accountability

Adoptions

Rescue Partnerships

Rescue Partnerships

At this time, BAM is not able to support local adoptions. Instead, we focus our resources on preparing each animal for placement through our trusted rescue partners. We invest in every animal’s medical care, transport, and documentation to give them the best possible chance at finding a loving home.

Because we do not charge fees to the receiving rescues, our work is funded entirely by donations and grants. This means we rely on the generosity of our supporters to continue providing care and creating life-saving opportunities for the animals we serve.
